History of Chinese Acrobatics Show

The Chinese Acrobatic Show has a history that goes back almost 2500 years. According to the Legend the Chinese Acrobatic Show had probably begun during the age of the Warring States. Initially the show was called the ‘show of hundred tricks’ as the performers pooled together all their various talents to put up a great and very unique show. The legend also mentions the great feats put up by the performers like Ventriloquism, voice imitation, animal taming and animal shows, and gymnastic and other dance forms. However the Chinese Acrobatic Show has come into a greater prominence since the inception of the People’s Republic of China in the year 1949. With the passage of the years the modernization and improved design of costumes, the changes in the music forms as well as the variety of newly developed lighting effects have made the show even more appealing the national and international audience.

Brief introduction of Chaoyang Theater Acrobatics Show

The Chaoyang Theatre works mainly on the performance of acrobatics. Built up in 1984, the theatre covers an area of 3,000 sq. m, including a hall and three movie halls. In 1986 it was assigned by Beijing Municipality as the fixed place for tourism performance and was designated as the National Cultural Advanced Unit by Ministry of Culture of People’s Republic of China. In order to meet the need of tourism market, the theatre put forward a notion of “Acrobatics World” to enrich the contents. In the past 20 years or so, it has received more than three million foreign audiences and has been in charge of tens of safeguards of important people who visited there, such as the president of Czech and the officers from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).  
The theatre lies in the CBD, connected with Jinguang Building of CCTV.
