Do I need a permit for visiting Hongkong or Macau?

Residents of most countries can enter Hong Kong without applying for a visa in advance and are allowed to stay for 90 days. A visa will be issued on arrival. Please visit http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm for more details.

 

 Residents of most countries would be granted visa-free entry to Macao. Passport holders of other countries not specified hereunder should apply a visa for entry admission. Please visit http://cn.macautourism.gov.mo/en/info/get2macau.php for more details.

 

Do I need a permit to visit Tibet?

Yes, You do need a permit to visit Tibet. Tibet has unique geography,climate,religion and traffic considerations, it has not been fully opened to foreign travelers. Travelers must get a Tibet Entry Permit before having access to Tibet Areas. Travelers must have Tibet Entry Permit before buying plane or train tickets. Our travel advisors will arrange an itinerary for you and assist you to get the Tibet Permit. All kinds of people can get Tibet permit from our travel service except diplomats, journalists and government officials. These people should travel to Tibet under the arrangement by the Foreign Affairs Office of Tibet Government. It is recommended not to mention traveling to Tibet when you apply for China Visa. It’s easier for you to get Tibet Permit after you have China Visa.

 

What should I do if I lose my passport during my stay in china?

 If you lose your passport, call your tour guide or travel operator for help and notify the police office or local Public Security Bureau  immediately. The police will then issue you a certificate of lost passport, with which, you need to go to the nearest embassy or consulate of your own country to apply for a new passport. To have the replacement, you will need to know all the information previously recorded and show identification and proof of citizenship. With the new passport issued, you can get a new Visa in the local Public Security Bureau, so you can continue your trip or re-enter your country. Please note that in some cases, a replacement may take weeks to process, and it may be valid only for a limited time. So take special care of your passport in your journey. When should I apply for China visa?

The China visa is generally valid for 3 months from the issue date to enter China. Please apply for your visa within 3 months of entry into China according to your travel itinerary, and avoid expiry of visa or extra cost of urgent fee due to lack of application process time. Please also decide the duration of stay in China. The permitted duration of stay of Chinese visas are generally up to 30 days. If you need to stay longer, please apply to the local public security bureau in China for visa extension.

Yes, people of non-Chinese nationality need a Chinese Visa to enter China.


A Brief Introduction to Chinese Visa and the Procedure for Visa Application:
Chinese visa is a permit issued to a foreigner by the Chinese visa authorities for entry into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory. The Chinese visa authorities may issue a diplomatic, courtesy, service or ordinary visa to a foreigner according to his identity, purpose of visit to China and passport type. Hereunder is an introduction to the ordinary visa and its application procedure:

The ordinary visas consist of eight sub-categories, which are marked with Chinese phonetic letters (D, Z, X, F, L, G, C, J-1 and J-2 respectively).

Visa D: issued to aliens who are to reside permanently in China. A permanent residence confirmation form shall be required for the application of Visa D. The applicant shall apply to obtain this form himself or through his designated relatives in China from the exit-and-entry department of the public security bureau in the city or county where he applies to reside.

Visa Z: Issued to aliens who are to take up posts or employment in China, and to their accompanying family members. To apply for a Visa Z, an Employment License of the People''s Republic of China for Foreigners (which could be obtained by the employer in China from the provincial or municipal labor authorities) and a visa notification letter/telegram issued by an authorized organization or company are required.

Visa X: Issued to aliens who come to China for study, advanced studies or job-training for a period of six months or more. To apply for a Visa X, certificates from the receiving unit and the competent authority concerned are required, i.e., Application Form for Overseas Students to China (JW201 Form or JW202 Form), Admission Notice and Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.

Visa F: Issued to an applicant who is invited to China on a visit, on a study or lecture, business tour, for scientific-technological and cultural exchanges, for short-term refresher course or for job-training, for a period of no more than six months. To apply for a Visa F, the invitation letter from the inviting unit or the visa notification letter/telegram from the authorized unit is required.

Visa L: Issued to aliens who come to China for sightseeing, visiting relatives or other private purposes. For a tourist applicant, in principle he shall evidence his financial capability of covering the travelling expenses in China, and when necessary, provide the air, train or ship tickets to the heading country/region after leaving China. For the applicants who come to China to visit relatives, some are required to provide invitation letters from their relatives in China.

Visa G: Issued to aliens who transit through China. The applicants are required to show valid visas and on-going tickets to the heading countries/regions.

Visa C: Issued to train attendants, air crewmembers and seamen operating international services, and to their accompanying family members. To apply for a visa C, relevant documents are required to be provided in accordance with bilateral agreements or regulations of the Chinese side.

Visa J-1: Issued to foreign resident correspondents in China.

Visa J-2: Issued to foreign correspondents who make short trip to China on reporting tasks. The applicants for J-1 and J-2 visas are required to provide a certificate issued by the competent Chinese authorities.

In addition to providing the above-mentioned documents, an applicant is also required to answer relevant questions and go through the following formalities (with the exception of those stipulated otherwise by agreements):

Providing valid passport or a travel document in lieu of the passport

Filling out a visa application form, and providing a recent 2-inch, bareheaded and full-faced passport photo.

Paying the visa fee:
The overseas Chinese visa authorities are Chinese embassies, consulates, visa offices, the consular department of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR, and other agencies abroad authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. If a foreigner intends to enter into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory, he shall apply to the above-mentioned Chinese visa authorities for a Chinese visa. For further information, please consult the nearest Chinese visa authorities.

 

How to apply for orphanage visit in China with your adopted child

1.       Orphanage visit application Form

2.       A copy of the Adoption Registration Certificate (the document with a family photo of adoptive parents and adopted child) or a copy of the Notarized Adoption Certificate (the document with adoptive parents’ names and adopted child’s name, issued by the Notary Public)

3.       Passports copies for all travelers who will visit the orphanage. 

4.       For Hunan and Anhui Provinces, each family will need to prepare a letter requesting to visit the orphanage. On the letter you need to indicate when and where you adopted your child, name of your adopted child, name of the orphanage, and when you want to visit the orphanage.

5.      Provincial application fee – this varies in a different provincewe will let you know the fee for your province and this will be included in your quotation.

2. The quote we provide is in Chinese currency-RMB, the equivalent quote in USD is based on current exchange rate between the RMB and the USD.  The quote we provide in USD is subject to slight change due to the fluctuation of the exchange rate, though our quote in RMB will remain the same.

3. Our average deposit amount is 2,000 RMB, but this amount is subject to change.  It could possibly be higher, or lower depending on group size, and itinerary.  Your personal travel consultant will adjust the amount accordingly.

4. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your tour date.

Whatever if you have or have not a Paypal account, you may pay us securely with Paypal. Use this payment gateway, you don't need to pay any processing fee.

After you have confirmed a certain amount of payment for the travel service you are going to book from Chinaorientaltravel.com, your travel consultant will send you a PayPal payment link via email. By following that payment link, you will be transferred to Paypal's secure online payment website. If you have a Paypal account, all you need to do is to login to your Paypal account and click the "pay" button. What is your general deposit and payment rule?

A non-refundable deposit which is equal to 10% of the total tour cost is required at the time a reservation is confirmed. The full &/or final payment is required 30 days before departure for your China tour. Should the tour booked within 30 days before departure for your China tour, full payment is required

 

How can I pay for my items?

We Provide two ways for you to pay. You can pay via PayPal; or Bank transfer.

 

Can I pay by my credit cards via PayPal?

Yes. You can use Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards to checkout your payment easily and fast. For details please visit www.paypal.com.
Note: We reserve the right to hold your bookings and require another method of payment when either PayPal or Chinaorientaltravel.com has reason to believe that the payment you made is fraudulent.

 

How to use PayPal to pay ?

After you receive our email with quotation, you also receive a payment request mail. In the mail you can see the payment link for guiding you to PayPal website to make the payment. If you are already a PayPal member, simply follow the standard procedure. Or if you don’t have a PayPal account, you just input your credit card information for an express checkout. The “Pay” button will be showed on the left site. Click it and follow the usual procedure to pay.

 

What evidence of payment do I get from you after payment is made?
